The Night They Invented Champagne

Welcome to

The Night They Invented Champagne

a toast to the world of Operetta

Starring: KT SULLIVAN, CRAIG RUBANO, DOMINIC MEIMAN and MARK NADLER

Take a whirlwind excursion that traverses the operetta capitals of the world from Vienna to Broadway. You'll savor the lush romance of Lehar, Strauss and Romberg, chuckle at the prickly wit of Gilbert & Sullivan, thrill at operetta's surprising appearance in modern musical theatre. Come waltz with the Merry Widow, tango with the Vagabond King and march with Stout-Hearted Men. You'll take away tunes directly descended from Operetta in such musical comedies as Showboat, Gigi, A Little Night Music and My Fair Lady; shows that were inspired by the great masters of light opera.

As you will see, this show is ideal for small corporate events, banquets, fund-raisers, galas and high-end private parties.  The structure of the show is flexible, and it can be tailored to fit any occasion perfectly.  For example, the show was performed earlier this year at a birthday party at New York City's Waldorf-Astoria Hotel with totally revised  patter, lyrics and song selections to dramatize the life story of the woman being fêted.  As you will hear, lyrics can be rewritten to acknowledge specific people in the audience or to satirize current events.

Now, pour yourself a glass of bubbles and delight in the sparkling songs from the most romantic and tuneful of all theatrical genres: Operetta and the musicals it inspired!
